MC

The role of MC is a critical factor in creating a truly memorable event – helping to link the speakers and maintain relevancy and manage the room energy.

But the term ‘MC’ has lost some of it’s currency over the years, often being more associated with logistical/ practical aspects of the event – and not a feature in it’s own right.

I feel the term ‘Link-Presenter’ is far more appropriate to describe the job being performed. A Link Presenter is a master presenter in his/ her own right, being able to sharpen points after speaker presentations, work the spontaneous humour in the room, as well as deliver mini presentations, stories & anecdotes that help drive the event objectives home.

Over recent years I have presided over events including:

Australia Day Big Breakfast – 26th Jan 2012 ( approx 9000 pax): Coordinated all activity from the main stage including entertainment, guest speakers, dignitaries etc.

Walk for a Cure – 28th Oct 2012 (approx 6000 pax): Worked closely with organisers to coordinate full day of activity including speeches, guest appearances, entertainment and fundraising information.

National Bar Awards  – 25th Sept 2012: (approx 700 pax): Hosted national Bar awards, introduced evening, announced special guests, maintained audience engagement and had a bunch of fun!

‘Jason was integral to the success of my events from their very conception. He is a natural entertainer and excellent MC. I cannot recommend him highly enough’- David Spanton, Director Spanton Media & Sydney BarShow

‘Jason Jay was hired to MC our Google Enterprise launch events in Sydney, Auckland and Wellington. He proved himself very likable and was able to link the speaking slots well with ad-lib suitable for the audience. I will definitely be using him again for further events’ – Helen Mills, Marketing Manager, Fronde Systems (Google Partner)
